Happy Monday y’all!!! Don’t mind me…I’m just over here wishing I was back in NYC. Today, I’m bringing you my travel review from one of my favvvvvvveee parts of the city, SOHO. If you aren’t aware of why SOHO is called SOHO…here it is. SOHO is named for it’s location in the city with is located directly south of Houston street. Get it? SOuth of HOuston…SOHO!! Anywhoooooo, now that I am finished with my nerdy fun fact, let me tell y’all a little more. B and I visit the city as much as we possibly can. When we go, we choose one section of the city and stick to it. The city is so, so, big and to travel back and forth on the subway from one end to the other, it will take you a longggg time. Once, you’ve done the the tourist stuff and seen Times Square, Lady Liberty etc., I suggest choosing an area to focus on for your next visit. This was you can really explore the area and get to see what the REAL NYC is all about. Part of the reason I love SOHO is for its friendly neighborhood vibes. It’s extremely laid back and filled with awesome shopping, unique restaurants and chill bars. Keep reading to find out our fave spots to check out.

Where to stay

The James Hotel: Okay y’all, we stayed at this place for the first time on our last visit and I was much impressed!!! Such a unique and cool hotel!! Pluses, windows that actually open in your room (so unique for NYC), a kicka** rooftop bar that has a pool too, and a glass elevator. Very modern and in a great location that makes it easy to walk everywhere!

Where to eat

Cupping Room Cafe: We ate breakfast/brunch here two days in a row. B’s French Toast was divine and my Mexican Omelette was perfection! Top that off with some tasty Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s and you’ve started your weekend off right!!

Boqueria: Stop in here for some delicious tapas and yummy Sangrias. Such a great little spot to get a mid-afternoon snack or drinks

Il Mulino Prime: We ate an early dinner here and LOVED it. The atmosphere in here is on fleek! It’s super chic and laid back. I had a filet and B had chicken parm. Both so yummy. Try the meatballs as an app…you won’t be disappointed.

Other restaurants to try:

Balthazar // Aurora //  David Burke Kitchen // The Dutch

Where to grab cocktails

Gilligan’s: OMG y’all…this was just the coolest!!!! You feel like you are on a tropical island in the middle of NYC. Walk back a little pathway to find your way to lush plants and an outdoor bar. Try the watermelon slushy margarita. It is so delish. Plus, if it’s warm out…they have misters all over to cool you down. This place is a must see.

Jimmy (The James Hotel Rooftop) : This rooftop was part of the reason that we chose to stay at the James. Y’all it is just perfection. Complete with a pool and drinks, it can’t be beat! Plus, the view is just insane. Hotel guests have keycard access to the rooftop whenever they want. Outside guests can visit once the rooftop bar opens. It is totally worth a stop on your trip.

Where to shop: (Prince Street)

Y’allllllll….I could spend allllll day walking around shopping in SOHO, but B would probs not be a happy camper. Here are a few of my fave shops along Prince Street.

TopShop // Madewell // J. Crew
