Hello lovelies and welcome to the third installment of my “Wedding Wednesday” series. Today, I’m chatting about “proposing” to your bridemaids and groomsmen. You can read about the first two posts…here and here. There are soooo many different ways to do this, but I thought I’d share the simple, yet meaningful way that we asked our wedding party.
The gifts
We decided to give a little gift to each member that we were asking. From there we picked a theme. Since we thought the best way to incorporate the guys and and gals together, we went with color. Our wedding colors were navy, shades of pink, silver, and gold. We used the color palette to pick and choose items that we thought our bridesmaids and groomsmen would enjoy.
For the gals: essie nail polish (I chose colors specific to each girl that I thought they would like best), pink and navy candies, pink champagne, lip gloss, and mini bottles of wine (not pictured)
For the guys: mini bourbon bottles, bottle opener, flask, navy and silver candles
We scoured the internet for fun sayings for each and made those using powerpoint. (if you would like the template, please let me know!!)
How we asked
This part was so much fun!!! We actually secretly contacted each person’s family so that we could surprise each member of our bridal party!! My favorite one was when we showed up at my cousin’s hip hop recital. He was showing off his breakdancing skills and we waited in the lobby until he finished. His older sister also happened to be home from college at Penn State..so it was a DOUBLE surprise. I truly think taking the time to come up with a meaningful way to ask your wedding party is REALLY important. They will be by your side during all of your planning and will be doing a lot for you and your special day. It’s really crucial to make sure they all know how much you appreciate them.
How did you ask your wedding party members to join you on your big day?? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Drop me a comment below.
