Fruity Flag Dessert

What you’ll need:

Serving Tray (a patriotic one if you are feeling #extra)

12 Skewers

One pint blackberries (or blueberries)

One pint raspberries

Bag of miniature marshmallows

Directions

For the first 5 skewers:

Thread 4 blackberries or blueberries on the skewer first

Then thread a two raspberries and one marshmallows, alternating raspberry, marshmallow, raspberry

For the remaining 7 skewers:

Alternate Threading 4 raspberries and 3 marshmallows, starting with the raspberry

*After all skewers are complete, I lay them all out and carefully “fix” them so that the marshmallows line up horizontally so it looks like an American Flag

Cover and chill in fridge until ready to serve. Enjoy

Patriotic Parfaits

What you’ll need:

White cake mix or prepackaged lady fingers

One pint strawberries

One pint blackberries or blueberries

Whipped cream or Cool Whip

Stemless wine goblets or any other glass cups/bowls

Directions:

Bake cake according to back of package. Let cool completely.

Cut cake into small one inch squares

Layer 3-5 cake squares into the bottom of glass

Next add a thick layer of whipped cream or Cool Whip

Then, add a layer of sliced strawberries

Next, add a second layer of whipped cream or Cool Whip on top of the strawberries.

Top with blackberries or blueberries

Serve immediately or chill in fridge until ready to serve. Enjoy

*You can also vary this by making it one large dessert in a trifle dish. It looks equally as pretty and is easier to transport if you are traveling to a BBQ!
