Happy Friday friends! Hallelujah that it’s almost the weekend! Yipeee! Can you all believe it’s already Mother’s Day this weekend? I for one am super excited to celebrate my beautiful mama! My mom is prob the greatest human that ever walked the face of the planet, if you know her, you know what I mean! Every year, we celebrate by trying a different brunch and bubbly….which is so much fun!! Is there ever a time that brunch isn’t fun? Plus, the weather is soooo nice this week so I can’t wait to enjoy it with the family. How do you celebrate your mom??? I always love hearing the ideas of others…always inspires me so much!
Today, I thought I’d share a travel guide for one of my fave road trip places, Alexandria, VA. We recently traveled here with mi madre and it is such a fun little place to visit! If you live in the greater Philadelphia area, this is such a fun weekend trip to take!! Read on below, to see what to eat, drink, and do!!
Alexandria Travel Guide
First and foremost, when we have visited Alexandria, we usually break it into two or three parts bc there are three fun areas all right next to each others. We usually stay in Alexandria and explore that area. Then, we choose to either head across the water to spend some time in the National Harbor of take the Metro into D.C. If you have a few days, you can do all three!
Where to Stay
The Alexandrian This hotel is super unique! The decor is so pretty with gorgeous couches in the lobby, and unique wallpaper in the rooms. Plus, I can’t say enough about the location of this hotel….it’s in the BEST spot to get to everything you need in Alexandria just by walking a few blocks!! This was our second time to this hotel. Plus, they have fun things in the lobby, like flavored water, tea, coffee, and popcorn. (all complimentary) As if it wasn’t sweet enough, the hotel is also pet friendly!
Gaylord Resort National Harbor This hotel is so gorgeous! The part that faces the water is all glass and the inside of the hotel is just plain amazing. It is fun to just walk around, enjoy the atrium and all of the beautiful scenery. We hope to take a trip back soon and stay here!!!
