Happy Tuesday Y’all!!! B and I just returned from Bermuda last week!! What a lovely trip it was. If you follow along on insta, you saw some glimpses of the beauty of this island. Just to give you a little heads up…be prepared to meet some of the friendliest peeps EVER in Bermuda. I can’t say enough about how kind everyone is, so that alone makes the trip there even more special. B and I even met a super friendly Bermudian named Ty in Philly while waiting to board our flight. We talked to him for about a half hour and learned his story and all sorts of islands secrets. You rock Ty!!! Anywhooooo, I thought while it was fresh in my mind, I would round up some of the best things to do in Bermuda. PS: How fun is my palm print jumpsuit??? I wore this out during Harbour Nights and it was the easiest, breeziest, and most comfy outfit I wore in Bermuda!
What a shocker there! Lol. I’m sure you may know by now that Bermuda is known for it’s beautiful, calm and powder blue water that kisses the most gorgeous pink sand beaches. Our fave beaches that we traveled to on our trip were the ever popular Horseshoe Bay, and Warwick Long Bay. We also had private beach access with our resort called Hamilton Princess, which I will review in a later post.
*First two pics are Warwick Long Bay and third pic is Horseshoe Bay.
Tip: As I said in my previous posts about traveling, B and I are planners!! We research A LOT before we travel anywhere. With that being said, Bermuda is a huge cruise ship destination. I’ve attached a link here, where you can search to see which ships will be in port and when. This way, you can determine when the popular beaches will be most crowded. This was very important for us as we needed to take many blog photos. I had to try and avoid as many #photobombs as possible. Lol For example: On Friday afternoons, most of the cruise ships leave port by about 2 or so. With that being said, the best time to travel to the crowded Horseshoe Beach is therefore Friday afternoon. When we went, we had most of the beach to ourselves bc we timed it correctly. Warwick Long Bay ended up being our favorite bc most of the time we were there…we had the whole beach to ourselves!! We spent many hours with the whole ocean and beach for just us!! Plus, we visited the local market, and got a disposal cooler. We filled it with sandwiches, snacks, and beers to enjoy during our stay at Warwick!! It was amazing.
As I mentioned before, B and I travel with our own personal snorkel equipment. It doesn’t cost much on amazon and you don’t have to worry about putting someone else’s snorkel in your mouth. #kindagross Plus, this allows the ability to be able to snorkel whenever you please right off the beach. Warwick Long Bay proved to be an easy spot to snorkel right off the beach. There were tons of colorful fish like parrotfish feeding right off the coral!!
Whenever we head out on vacay….we make it a point to get out on the water at least once. We just LOVE the seeing the land from a different vantage point. We have done many a different types of experience from snorkeling to booze cruise. This time around, we decided to choose a sunset sail to experience the a famous Bermudian sunset. The sail we chose can be found here. It was magical!! You get a smooth tour around the harbor to see some famous mansions, enjoying the cool breeze, and sipping on a complimentary island specialty, the Rum Swizzle. IMO, this sail trip is a must do!! The sailboat we chose was smaller and more intimate. We only had about 8 other people on board with us, so it was amazing for pictures bc it was less crowded!
Holllaaaa….y’all know this girl likes to get her shop on. Part of the reason we selected the Hamilton Princess is because we wanted to be close to downtown/nightlife and shopping. The main street in Hamilton (Front Street) is lined with many boutiques and such. They also hold a fun nighttime event called Harbour Nights on Wednesdays from May through August in case you are traveling at that time. Harbour Nights is a collection of food samples, shopping, culture, and music!! It was a blast. Def check it out if you have the opportunity. What an amazing experience.
I’ll be making another post in the coming weeks to review all of the delicious eats we tried on Bermuda plus an extensive review of our resort.
Have y’all traveled to Bermuda before? What was your fave thing to do?? I love hearing from you. Drop me a comment below.
